 Relationship Manager - Premium Banking

PURPOSE:


The position is responsible for marketing to new and existing clients to grow quality business of both the asset and liability book in line with portfolio targets and attain target revenue for the portfolio. This role is also responsible for the retention and growing the wallet share from existing business/personal banking requirements and effective management of the relationship /customer experience.   

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Prospecting for new business opportunities and offering the full range of Banking products and services such as personal accounts, current accounts, loans, fixed deposit accounts, card products, Internet Banking, Home Loans, Commercial Advances by way of Working Capital, Term Loans, STL’s, Hire Purchase, Asset Financing, IPF’s, Letters of Credit and Letters of Guarantees;
  • Focused growth in transactional banking solutions for the business banking portfolio
  • Documenting Account opening and executing all KYC documents to facilitate account opening and all Bank’s products and services;
  • Obtaining related financial documents to be able to put forward any new borrowing requests from the client;
  • Preparing Call reports with recommendations and submitting for consideration by approvers;
  • Mobilizing High Cost and Low Cost Deposits and growing the Bank’s Deposit Base in line with Branch targets;
  • Providing feedback to the client on the outcome of their request and providing other solutions which could be beneficial to them in the long run;
  • Processing and concluding transactions in a timely manner;
  • Making regular client visits to review business requirements, assessing assets under securities held or offered and submitting call reports;
  • Processing ad-hoc/additional/new requests/excesses under allotted portfolio and obtaining approvals where/when required;
  • Cross selling the Bank’s and Group’s products.
  • Conducting reviews and renewals for existing relationships for clients enjoying various Credit facilities by proposing and recommending Credit Appraisals;
  • Making follow ups with Credit department on the offer letter and other Banks contractual documents for the client to execute for facilities approved and following up internally and externally for processing of securities and marking limits;
  • Attending to the Credit Audit report and ensuring that ARPs are promptly attended to and resolved;
  • Making regular customer meetings and visits to build and grow the relationship;
  • Filling customer instructions/important loan related documents in the client’s respective dockets for safe custody as the information is private and confidential;
  • Reviewing Loan excess and arrears reports on a weekly basis and providing comments for all accounts listed. This involves making daily follow ups with clients to ensure that their accounts are conducted within their sanction limits and any irregular excess are regularized within the shortest time possible;
  • Approving excesses across Branches for relationship handled by the respective Relationship Managers especially in terms of excess drawing on their accounts; and
  • Reviewing and commenting on enhanced and new facilities at the end of every month as per the Central Bank of Kenya requirement to the CR HO department.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS


Academic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution will be an added advantage; and
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing diploma or its equivalent; and
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or equivalent professional body.


Experience

  • At least 5 years relevant experience


Generic Competencies

  • Ability to write complex letters, comprehensive reports and to perform complex calculations.


Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good financial analysis skills;
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Knowledgeable in credit, legal (conveyancing) and lending knowledge;
  • Basic understanding of Banking Law; and
  • Knowledgeable in the Banking Act, CBK prudential guidelines and credit policies.

PURPOSE:


 


This job coordinates all activities that relate to investor relations management.


It is the key contact point between the Bank and its investors. The incumbent is responsible of ensuring there is scrupulous communication by keeping the market informed of any development about the Bank & enable the most effective interaction between the Bank, the financial community to ultimately contribute to Bank’ shares and achieving a fair valuation of the share price. 


 


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities.


Build & maintain strong relationships with both equity & debt investors, shareholders, stock exchange representatives, brokers, portfolio managers, financial analysts, custodial services, and act as their main point of contact.

Planning & organizing investors events by setting up an annual calendar of events to meet with the shareholders of the company (road shows), potential investors and regular meetings with analysts both sell-side as buy-side.

Facilitating investor information requests and responding to investors’, shareholders’, and analysts ‘enquiries by providing financial analytics.

Create accurate and appropriate press releases, presentations handout for road shows investors.

Coordinates meetings, conferences, to communicate business strategy and bank’s financial performance on a quarterly basis; drafting the press release, writing (parts of) the annual report; drafting the key messages.

Preparing questions & answers (including FAQs); Developing the Bank’s results presentation and press releases, writing the script for the investor meeting/call; rehearsing the script/presentation with the CEO and CFO to ensure smooth delivery of the messages.

Identifying issues to be addressed in presentation of the Bank, and to inform management about these issues.

Coordinate media relations and Investors’ Communications.

Develop in-depth & thorough knowledge of banking operations, bank’s products, financial results, ongoing business issues and transactions to contribute proactively to the strategy.

Work with relevant departments to ensure regulatory announcements are appropriately published.

Maintain and update investor and shareholder database and provide support for annual general meetings.

Coordinate and ensure ESPO and Dividends are paid on time.

Monitor and evaluate market sentiment, tracking daily share price and market movements

Identify and implement best practices for information disclosure

Build and manage investor relations website

Assist management and board members with projects as required; Prepare quarterly report for Board: Financial highlights by the CEO and Board Alco pack Camels and any other required report

Any other duties assigned by the line manager

 


Academic Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Attributes


A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, and any related field

At least 3 years work experience in a Financial Institution with exposure to financial and business analysis.

Analytical capability and demonstrated knowledge of financial markets

Strong verbal and written skills and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.

Strong interpersonal and analytical capabilities

Organizational & time management skills and team working- to be flexible, proactive, a quick learner.

Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.

JOB PURPOSE

 

The Manager, Communications & Community Outreach Programs will handle all stakeholder communications for the bank and develop & maintain partnerships with organizations that serve low-income communities and will be responsible to promote events that engage employees in community outreach as well as raising the awareness of giving back to society.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. PARTNERSHIPS/MARKETING
  • Produce and maintain policy and procedure guidelines to ensure ethical and transparent ways of working with external partners.
  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with non-commercial partners to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership.
  • Research and identify appropriate partnerships that will lead to long term sustainable community outreach relationships.
  • Review project proposals from external parties.
  • Ensure that all sponsorship and partnership activities are aligned with the Bank’s strategic plan.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to identify and develop positioning for programs, partnerships, and people to significantly bolster the impact of the community outreach programs.
  • Lead the evaluation of the sponsored projects to assess their success in meeting objectives and share key learnings.
  • Evaluate the community outreach initiatives against industry standards, analyse results received.

 

  1. STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES
  • Coordinate with strategic partners, implementing partners and the community to participate in the outreach program activities.
  • Guide, advise and lead the staff team members in participations of community outreach program.
  • Contribute to cross-organizational learning, including providing information, guidelines, lessons learned from community outreach programs.
  • Plan & promote events to engage employees and raise awareness.
  • Maintain good relationships with the local communities and authorities.
  • Provide information to staff on available opportunities for their engagement.
  • Proactively coordinate and support the approved staff projects.
  • Create and implement an annual community outreach plan and assist in the development and recommendation of the budget.


  • COMMUNICATIONS
  • Develop strategies and materials for communication of the community outreach and partnerships initiatives to all internal and external audiences, ensuring overall messaging is consistent across the Bank.
  • Write and edit materials and otherwise promote approved partnerships and activities via the different digital channels.
  • Write press releases, media pitches and blogs.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate websites and social media platforms to ensure adequate branding and visibility of the projects and identify areas for improvement.
  • Partner with internal departments to enhance and expand programs, metrics, and communications.
  • Provide effective communication and representation, expanded partnerships, heightened visibility for community outreach programs.
  • Prepare data-driven, evidence -based periodic reports to ensure that management is equipped with necessary information for appropriate decision making.
  • Plan & execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, email, advertising) that align with internal goals.
  • Produce progress reports on community outreach programs in line with the Bank’s strategy.

 

REQUIREMENT


Minimum Education Qualification:

 

  • University Degree in Commerce or Business-Related Field.
  • MBA or MSC in Public Relations and/ or professional qualification

 


Work Experience:

Manager, Custodial & Investment Services

Job Purpose


  • Responsible for executing the Custodial & Investment Services strategy including the institutional investment business
  • Drive and monitor business growth and initiatives that enhance client relationships whilst ensuring operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Support Heads of businesses (Consumer & Corporate) in ensuring controls within the business units for all investments are met both regulatory and internal requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Develop and drive the Custodial and Investment Services Strategy
  • Develop and enhance relationships with insurance companies to gain maximum values
  • Contribute towards growth of Non-Interest Income base.
  • Delivery of consistent seamless customer service through maintenance of high service standards, relationship management and partnerships for the Custody business (customers, fund managers, brokers, regulators, administrators, stakeholders).
  • Ensure seamless client on-boarding experience and compliance with set KYC procedures when opening accounts (cash/ securities/ CDS)
  • Enforcement of risk excellence and compliance requirements by coordinating internal and external audits for the unit, to ensure compliance with regulatory, audit and internal controls.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and ethical standards commensurate with the requirements of market best practice.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with Custodial and Investment Services.
  • Ensure technology is fit for purpose and recommend changes / upgrades for the custody system where required.
  • Ensure all regulatory returns and any other information requested by the regulators are accurately compiled and submitted within the stipulated timelines.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of client instructions in compliance with market rules and regulations and agreed deadlines.
  • Providing hands-on assistance to investors, assessing their investment needs and providing them with sufficient market information necessary to make well informed decisions on investments in capital markets across the East African region.
  • Maintaining positive client relationship by focusing on educating the client on investment options available prior to navigating in the capital markets arena


Risk Management:

  • Develop, update and maintain risk procedures and systems with respect to risk identification, risk assessment, risk monitoring, risk mitigation strategies and risk reporting.
  • Ensure effective adoption and utilization of risk management tools
  • Drive remediation of risk management exceptions identified during audit or risk reviews
  • Promote risk management culture
